[For some reason, even though she's lost all hope of getting her bending back, Korra has felt compelled to practice her non-airbending forms. Air is the only element she can move, but she still prefers going through the slow, smooth motions of water bending.

It's like picking at a scab, or writing a letter home you'll never send.

She's in the park, her new favorite place to be, practicing yet again. After running through the water bending basics, she kicks into high gear with some of her favorite advanced fire bending forms. Those unfamiliar with bending might look around and wonder where the music is, so like a dance it seems]

[Look up, up, waaaaaay up! After Korra finishes her fire bending routine, a round of applause comes from one of the near by sturdy oaks trees.]

[Korra doesn't jump -- when you practice in public like she's had to do, you get used to people watching and commenting. But it does take her a bit to find the source of the clapping.]

[She peers around, and finally finds her hidden audience member. Have a smile that's a mixture of confusion and pleasure.]

That's really beautiful. You look like you've practiced a lot.

All my life.

[She flushes a little with pleasure. She's been called strong, powerful, even amazing, but almost nobody has talked about how beautiful the forms look.]

Do you do any martial arts?

[justamessenger]

Not for a very very long time.

[She swings both legs down off the branch, doc martens dangling some ways over Korra's head.]

Why?

I get bored easily. You make it look like fun again, though.

[anatural]

How could you find it boring?

[She's not judging. She just can't ever imagine being bored by it.]

There are just so many things in the world, I get distracted.

[She hops down off the branch, shaking stray leaves off her wings once she lands.]

[It's a person with wings. A PERSON WITH WINGS. She's never seen one of those before! Talk about distracted.]

[It takes Korra a moment to remember what to do with the proffered hand. Her handshake is surprisingly weak considering her strength; she still doesn't really grasp the concept.]
